What is Chlorphenamine Tablets ?
Chlorphenamine is an antihistamine that relieves the symptoms of allergies. It is used for hay fever, red, itchy eyes (conjunctivitis), eczema, hives (urticaria) caused by food allergies and chickenpox, insect bites and stings
One tablet every four to 6 hours. Do not take more than 6 tablets (24mg) in 24 hours.
This medicine is not recommended for children under 12.
Talk to your doctor before you take these tablets if you have very high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, enlarged prostate
Chlorphenamine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision or lack of co-ordination. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are affected in this way and do not drink alcohol, as it can make these effects worse.
Common side effects include feeling sick (nausea), sleepy or dizzy. You may also have difficulty concentrating, a dry mouth, headaches or blurred vision.
The active ingredient in Chlorphenamine tablets is chlorphenamine maleate BP. The other ingredients are lactose, maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium starch.
