What is Piriteze Tablets ?
Piriton Tablets contain active ingredient chlorphenamine, which is an antihistamine. Histamine is a chemical released into the body during an allergic reaction. It causes itching and inflammation. Piriton Tablets block the effects of histamine, suppressing the body’s allergic reaction and starting to relieve the symptoms within half an hour.
You can take Piriton Tablets for conditions like nettle rash, hives, heat rash, prickly heat, dermatitis or reactions to food, food additives or medicines, or to insect bites or stings. Piriton Tablets also relieve the sneezing and itchy, watery eyes and nose associated with hayfever. Piriton Tablets can also be used to calm the itchy rash of chickenpox.
Swallow the tablet with a drink of water.
For children aged one year and over, Piriton Syrup is available
If symptoms persist consult your doctor
Adult dosage: Take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours (Maximum 6 tablets)
6 years to 12 years: ½ tablet every 4-6 hours (Maximum 6 halves)
Do not take more than there recommended does. If you accidentally take more than this then contact a doctor immediately.
Talk to your doctor before you take these tablets if you have very high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, enlarged prostate
Piriton may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision or lack of co-ordination. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are affected in this way and do not drink alcohol, as it can make these effects worse.
Like all medicines, Piriton Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effect is drowsiness. This drowsiness can be helpful if symptoms are particularly troublesome at night. Other side effects feeling sick (nausea), difficulty concentrating, a dry mouth, headaches and blurred vision.
